Controllability of networks of one-dimensional second order p.d.e. -- an algebraic approach
نویسنده
چکیده
We discuss controllability of systems that are initially given by boundary coupled p.d.e. of second order. Those systems may be described by modules over a certain subring R of the ring M0 of Mikusiński-Operators with compact support. We show that the ring R is a Bézout domain. This property is utilized in order to derive algebraic and trajectory related controllability results.

Determining Effective Features for Face Detection Using a Hybrid Feature Approach
Detecting faces in cluttered backgrounds and real world has remained as an unsolved problem yet. In this paper, by using composition of some kind of independent features and one of the most common appearance based approaches, and multilayered perceptron (MLP) neural networks, not only some questions have been answered, but also the designed system achieved better performance rather than the pre...

In this paper, a method for finding an approximate solution of a class of two-dimensional nonlinear Volterra integral equations of the first-kind is proposed. This problem is transformedto a nonlinear two-dimensional Volterra integral equation of the second-kind. The properties ofthe bivariate shifted Legendre functions are presented. The operational matrices of integrationtogether with the produ...
متن کاملAn artificial Neural Network approach to monitor and diagnose multi-attribute quality control processes
One of the existing problems of multi-attribute process monitoring is the occurrence of high number of false alarms (Type I error). Another problem is an increase in the probability of not detecting defects when the process is monitored by a set of independent uni-attribute control charts. In this paper, we address both of these problems and consider monitoring correlated multi-attributes proce...
متن کاملStability and Convergence of Discretisations of Initial Value P.D.E.'s
This paper examines the stability and convergence of discretisa-tions of initial value p.d.e.'s using spatial discretisation followed by time integration with an explicit one-step method. A Cauchy integral representation is used to bound the growth in the discrete solution. New results are obtained regarding suucient conditions for both algebraic and strong stability. Suucient conditions are al...
